My name is James Edward Alexander. Born and raised in Toms River, New Jersey. Yes, I'm a Jersey boy at heart who has spent many years traveling the globe as an accomplished entertainer. I’m still performing in TV, Film and Theater. My love for connecting with people, the performing arts and passion for photography have always been a big part of my life. I'm a proud member of Actors Equity Association and Sag-Aftra. A recipient of the Connecticut Critic Circle award and a 2013 Helen Hayes award nominee with over 35 years in the entertainment industry, my experiences on the stage and in front of the camera have given me a unique gift of insight now that I stand BEHIND the lens.

IT TAKES A SECOND TO MAKE A FIRST IMPRESSION. The eyes are the window to the soul and a working headshot is all about great energy. Your essence. A relaxed, grounded, personable YOU. My sessions are a collaborative process between photographer and subject. The final image evolves organically as the subject (You) relates to the photographer (Me) and the camera (Our friend).

I'm a New York based photographer who specializes in photographing people of color. My studio is conveniently located in the heart of New York's theater district, I'm responsible for some of the best Actor Headshots currently seen in the New York showbiz community. But my abilities don't end there. I have captured the famous and the infamous; the very young and the very mature; the modest and the glamorous.
